U nedjelju, 5. veljače u Los Angelesu je održana 65. dodjela glazbenih nagrada Grammy.
Prije same dodjele, najviše nominacija, njih devet, otišlo je u ruke pjevačice Beyonce čime je postala izvođač s najviše nominacija u povijesti. U stopu su je slijedili Kendrick Lamar s osam nominacija te Adele i Brandi Carlile sa njih sedam.
Mnogo su očekivali kako nas za glavne nagrade, baš poput 2017. godini čeka žestoka “bitka” između Beyonce i Adele, no pobjednikom večeri ipak je proglašen Harry Styles. Upravo je njemu pripala nagrada za najbolji album, koja mu je uručena za Harry’s House. A isti je album ovjenčan i titulom najboljeg pop albuma.
Nagrade u glavnim kategorijama
Pjesmom godine proglašena je Just Like That blues pjevačice Bonnie Raitt, dok je snimka godine pripala Lizzo za hit About Damn Time.
Glazbenim spotom proglašen je onaj Taylor Swift za pjesmu All Too Well: The Short Film. Nagrada za najboljeg novog izvođača otišla je u ruke Samare Joy.
Pobjede za povijest
Za glazbenu divu Beyonce večer ipak nije bila razočaravajuća jer je osvojila četiri nagrade, uključujući i onu za najbolji dance/electronic album, kojim je proglašen njezin Renaissance. Ovom pobjedom upisala se u povijest Grammyja kao izvođač s najviše osvojenih zlatnih gramofona – njih čak 32!
A povijest je ispisala i glumica Viola Davis, koja je zahvaljujući Grammyju ostvarenom za naraciju vlastitih memoara postala 18. osoba koja je stekla laskavu titulu EGOT. Riječ je o akronimu koji sugerira kako je osoba osvojila sve četiri glavne američke nagrade vezane uz industriju zabave – Emmy, Grammy, Oscar i Tony.
